Water Logging During Monsoon
OH!NO!WATER LOGGED EVERYWHERE!!
↪It's a little bit awful to see that many parts of kolkata is waterlogged just after a few hours of intermittent rain , a few days ago . This shows that a major problem with drainage system in the city is still there . Kolkata rain like this only for few back in a year during every month. But even the city couldn't help with it. The scenario is specially bad in the area which is below the flyover. The worst part is that forcefully many drivers has to abandon their car in the pool of water. The main reason of water logging is saturation of soil . When the soil get fully saturated the rain water can't pass through it. Now a days its very important that whenever a roads is constructing, specifically in low area, it is important to develop proper drainage system is , to drain the water quickly in case of heavy rain. As a very populated city as well as famous city, it is very incongruous to see roads under water after a long spell of rain. Every year heavy rain makes some parts of the city suffer from water logging. The drainage system is still there but it is not sufficient to drain water, so the streets specially in low lying area usually get under water fully . Due to that roads get blocked, and that leading to traffic jam. Basically in urban area, often the residents home get damaged by water which may take several days to reduce. Not in urban area only, but it happens everywhere, whether its rich area or a poor area. Most interestingly the news papers weather report section informed us about the expected date , but when it is expected to be monsoon, it is a regular matter of concern.
As well as there is another problem due to heavy rain the damp at dvc get overload and it creates a situation of flood and moreover due to water longing mosquito spread dengue malaria and other decease.
